Together, these experts are industry veterans with decades of combined experience. We also have experienced staff members in roles of support, including marketing, communications, technical writing, web development, operations and accounting. Mark Tilley
As the leader of the executive team, Mark oversees the organization and daily business operations of IBACOS. His long experience in the residential construction industry complements his role in leading the company. Prior to joining IBACOS in 1994, Mark worked for General Electric's (GE) Plastics Division. He led the advanced design and development group for new material applications. He also directed the marketing and business development activities within the building and construction market, first in the U.S. then in Europe. This involved product and market development alliances with leading construction component manufacturers around the world. Mark is a native of Cambridge, England and holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Industrial Design from Great Britain's University of Manchester.
Brad Oberg
As a member of the executive team, Brad oversees all of the technical aspects of work IBACOS does with homebuilders, building product manufacturers, and state and federal governments. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, he is one of the foremost building scientists in the U.S. He is responsible for guiding IBACOS' efforts to increase the quality and performance of homes through its Services and Research teams, the latter being a key contributor to the U.S. Department of Energy's Building America program. Prior to co-founding IBACOS, Brad led the New Products Laboratory at USG Corporation and worked for the Owens Corning Research Lab. Brad is a past president of the Energy and Environmental Building Association (EEBA) and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), International Code Council (ICC), and NFPA. He received his Master of Architecture degree from The Ohio State University and his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Lehigh University.
Michael Dickens
As a member of the executive team, Michael is responsible for the group's overall business development activities. For almost 25 years, his passion has been to improve the quality and performance of America's homes. Prior to co-founding IBACOS in 1991, he directed GE's Living Environments program, which focused on innovative approaches to building homes using new materials and technologies. Throughout the 1990's, Michael played a pioneering role in helping the U.S. Department of Energy create its successful Building America program. In addition, he is the founder and CEO of IBACOS' sister company, BuildIQ, which provides the homebuilding industry with internet-based training, tools, and information on home quality and performance Best Practices®. Michael is a native of Wrexham, Wales and holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Industrial Design from Great Britain's University of Manchester and a postgraduate diploma in automotive design from the Royal College of Art in London.
Anthony Grisolia
Anthony manages consulting activities with production homebuilders throughout the U.S. He is involved with all aspects of design and construction. Over the years, Anthony has evaluated hundreds of residential construction issues and performed construction quality assessments with builders in 40 different markets. On the green building front, Anthony acted as principal Building Scientist for the construction of DIY Network's Best Built Home and regularly develops specifications and conducts quality assurance for green communities. In 1999, he was honored with Canada's Energy Efficiency award for an energy efficient housing design. Anthony has a Master of Architecture degree with an emphasis on Sustainable Design from State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Building Science degree from Canada's Ryerson University.

Elizabeth Scott
Elizabeth is responsible for the development and management of the Best Practices Research Alliance. Founded by IBACOS, the Alliance is a research-based community of homebuilders collaborating with building science specialists and product and material suppliers to advance the quality and performance of the American home. Formerly, Elizabeth led IBACOS' marketing communications efforts, including strategic planning, branding, communications and website development, and contributed to development of Department of Energy reports and proposals. Prior to joining IBACOS, she worked in account management for full-service marketing agencies, serving the high technology, construction, engineering, and education sectors. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh.
Glenn Cottrell
Glenn has served IBACOS since 1993—almost since the company's founding. Over the years, his responsibilities have spanned software research, project management of a demonstration home, and sales and product development for IBACOS' sister company, BuildIQ. Today, Glenn directs and supervises a team of staff that provides administrative and technical support for IBACOS' day-to-day operations. He is the keeper of IBACOS' contracts, trademarks, and corporate policies and procedures. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He serves on the boards of two nonprofits, the South Side Local Development Company and the Neighborhood Development Venture.
