IBACOS' Michael Dickens Joins EcoHome's Vision 2020 Board

January 12, 2012

(Pittsburgh) – IBACOS announces that Michael Dickens, co-founder of the company and executive director of the Best Practices Research Alliance, has joined the Board of EcoHome magazine’s Vision 2020 initiative as Chair of Building Systems Research.

EcoHome’s editor-in-chief Rick Schwolsky said he envisioned the initiative as a way to bring industry thought leaders together in order to “map a path to sustainability in residential construction for 2020.”

The initiative will continue throughout the year, with updates appearing regularly on the Vision 2020 microsite, which launches mid-January at www.ecohomemagazine.com/.

Vision 2020 Chairs will oversee 10 focus areas that cover a range of issues critical to sustainability and the push toward higher performing homes, collaborating on articles that will appear online and in EcoHome. Vision 2020 will culminate in a closed-door leadership forum in September 2012 in Washington, D.C., and a feature article in the November issue of EcoHome.

Michael said he’s excited to have been asked to participate in the initiative. “This is an opportunity for the construction industry to see what great things come out of collaboration,” he said, adding, “In order to get where we need to be by 2020, we’re all going to need to share what we know.”

Aside from Michael Dickens, the Chairs include Sam Rashkin, founder of the EPA’s Energy Star for Homes, for the Green Building Codes, Standards, and Rating Systems area; Bob Berkebile, founding principal of BNIM, for Regenerative Design; and both Alex Wilson and Peter Yost of BuildingGreen for Products and Performance.
