Lab Home C, built in Austin, Texas, focused on the elements of house construction that are specific to the hot-humid climate region. A number of changes were incorporated to improve insulation, reduce air leakage, minimize solar loads, and downsize HVAC equipment.

Careful consideration was paid to controlling humidity through adequate ventilation. Working with IBACOS' manufacturing partner Carrier, new approaches to improved dehumidification were evaluated in the Lab Home C program.
