Eric Helton
As Research Associate, Eric contributes to the IBACOS team through his work on projects for the U.S. Department of Energy's Building America program. His background in building science includes experimental work at a national laboratory and three universities, as well as hands-on installation and maintenance work on solar water heating systems in industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Eric has technical abilities in HVAC system design and load calculations, computational fluid dynamics, empirical and theoretical fluid dynamics and heat transfer, control systems, instrumentation, and finite element analysis.
Eric is nearing completion of his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University in Oregon. He also holds two Bachelor's degrees, one in Mechanical Engineering and another in German, from Purdue University.
